This started of as a colour sprite of Akuma from Street Fighter Alpha 3. Abit of photoshop manip, was playing with vectoring using threshold in Photoshop.

I created Akumas Kanji on his back and decided to go for a bloodier one over the glowing or fire you normaly see, well his hands are stained with the blood of hundreds including his master and brohters Gouken and Goutetsu just to demonstraste and test his strength.

The kanji is japanese meaning for "sky", "heaven" or "immortal"
